2026 Toyota RAV4 Goes All-Electrified for Canada
Toyota's popular RAV4 SUV is redesigned for its sixth generation, featuring only hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains with standard all-wheel drive for the Canadian market.
The 2026 Toyota RAV4 has been unveiled, marking the sixth generation of the best-selling SUV. For Canadian buyers, the new RAV4 lineup will exclusively feature electrified powertrains, moving away from gasoline-only options. This strategic shift emphasizes fuel efficiency and reduced emissions across the model range.
Shoppers will have two powertrain choices: a 236-horsepower hybrid model and a more powerful plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant. The PHEV delivers up to 320 horsepower and offers an estimated 80 kilometers of all-electric range, making it eligible for the federal iZEV rebate of up to $5,000. Both hybrid and PHEV models will come standard with all-wheel drive, a key feature for Canadian driving conditions. The redesign also introduces new GR SPORT and Woodland editions.
